WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy is a safe yet powerful therapy for changing destructive habits, attitudes and behaviours.

Hypnosis is a natural state we all experience every day - when falling asleep for example or driving without conscious recall ('highway hypnosis').

When guided gently into this relaxed state, your unconscious mind is highly receptive to beneficial suggestions. The experience is wonderful - deep calm, the most peaceful feeling you can achieve without actually being asleep.

Most people are surprised to find that they are able to talk and answer questions during therapy while remaining deeply relaxed and focussed.

Afterwards, you'll feel peaceful and relaxed and the feeling lasts for some time afterwards.

Your therapy may be direct suggestion therapy, hypnoanalysis or a combination of both, often with other supportive techniques.

CAN ANYONE BE HYPNOTISED ?
Yes, it's safe for anybody except for the very young or elderly, or those with certain mental conditions.

CAN YOU CONTROL MY MIND?
NO! ALL HYPNOSIS IS SELF HYPNOSIS. Your therapist simply guides you into a naturally occurring state that we all go into many times during the day. Your mind is always your own. If you needed to end the trance for any reason - eg emergency - you would!

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?
It depends on the issue. Everyone is unique. Stop Smoking is 2-3 sessions, while some phobias can be helped in 1-2 sessions.

Compared to other therapies, Hypnotherapy is a fast-track solution. The aim is to help you in the minimum number of sessions possible, with regular ongoing assessment.

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION ?
Each session lasts approximately 1 hour. An initial 90 minute consultation may be needed.

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED SESSIONS?
This depends on the type of problem and on the progress made but usually it’s once a week. Some longer term treatments take place fortnightly, and ‘booster’ sessions can be once a month. This is reviewed during initial consultation.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
One hourly session costs £60. A 90 minute consultation is £90. STOP SMOKING IS £150 for two sessions, (3rd session is £60)
